The short version
Your tasks never leave your device. Orbit stores everything in your browser’s local database. We cannot read your tasks, and there is no server to read them from.
What stays on your device
- Tasks, projects, sections, labels, filters and templates
- Settings, themes and keyboard preferences
- Focus session history and completion history
- A random device identifier, generated locally on install
All of it lives in IndexedDB and chrome.storage.local. It is removed when you uninstall the extension, or immediately if you use Settings → Data → Delete everything.
What we receive, and only if you buy Pro
- Your email address — so a licence can be attached to it and restored on another device.
- A device identifier — a random string, so you can see and revoke which browsers have Pro active.
- Payment records — held by our payment provider, not by us. We never see your card details.
The free tier requires no account and sends us nothing. If you never buy Pro, we never learn that you exist.
Permissions, and why each one exists

Analytics
There is no analytics SDK in the extension. No telemetry is collected, and the setting that would enable it is off and unused.
Your rights
Export everything at any time from Settings → Data. To delete a Pro account and its licence record, email the address below and it will be removed within 30 days.
